History

Our architecture studio was founded in 1990 by José Manuel Chacón Bulnes, who has been the founder and director of the studio ever since.


José Manuel Chacón Bulnes is an architect graduated from the School of Architecture in Madrid, a Doctor of Architecture and holds a Master's degree in Restoration of Historical Heritage from the Polytechnic University of Cartagena.

- U.N.E.D. headquarters competition - National University of Distance Education in Cartagena in 1991.

- Preliminary project competition for the construction of 27 V.P.P. in Torre Pacheco, promoted by the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia in 1993.

- FIRST REGIONAL ARCHITECTURE AWARD for the U.N.E.D. building. Year 1995.

- Preliminary project competition for the construction of the CITY HALL building in Cieza, Murcia. Cieza City Council. Year 1997.

- Preliminary project competition for the construction of 25 V.P.P. in Las Torres de Cotillas promoted by the Autonomous Community of Murcia in 1998.

- Preliminary project competition for the construction of 20 V.P.P. in Campos del Río, promoted by the Autonomous Community of Murcia. Year 2000.

- Competition for the PUNIC WALL INTERPRETATION CENTER in Cartagena, promoted by Cartagena Puerto de Culturas. Year 2001.

- First prize of the TROPHEÉ ARCHIZINC for the application of Zinc in the facade of the REHABILITATION AND ADAPTATION OF THE OLD MARINE INSTRUCTION BARRACKS FOR THE POLYTECHNIC UNIVERSITY OF CARTAGENA, in the category of office buildings. Paris, June 14, 2010.

- REGIONAL Architecture Award at the XVI Architecture Awards of the Region of Murcia, in the Building category for the Rehabilitation of the Marine Instruction Barracks for the UPCT. Murcia, July 2011.

- Regional Quality Award in Building in the Tourist Use category called by the Ministry of Public Works and Regional Planning of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia for the rehabilitation of the B.I.C. "CASA TORRE LLAGOSTERA", October 9, 2012.

- International AR&PA award for intervention in Cultural Heritage, for the Recovery and Restoration of the Peral Submarine, at the IX BIENNIAL of Restoration and Heritage Management, held between November 14 and 17, 2014 in Valladolid. On the selection panel was Mr. Rafael Moneo.

- Regional Quality Award in Building in the Tourist Use category in its 6th edition, called by the Ministry of Public Works and Regional Planning of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, for the Rehabilitation and adaptation for museum use (Sala Isaac Peral) of the architectural space of the old foundry workshop. December 2014
